Role Overview
The Analyst – Data Analytics position at American Express is part of the Global Merchant & Network Services (GMNS) Analytics team. This role focuses on delivering actionable insights, solving complex business challenges, and driving data-backed strategies that optimize merchant and network performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze large datasets to derive actionable insights and business strategies.
- Design and implement innovative data-driven solutions and algorithms.
- Support strategic initiatives and merchant consulting projects across industries.
- Collaborate with marketing, product, and client management teams to deliver impactful solutions.
- Evaluate effectiveness of business initiatives and recommend improvements.
- Expand the adoption of advanced analytics techniques in business strategies.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, or Engineering.
- Experience: 0–2 years in analytics or related fields.
- Strong skills in data analysis, problem-solving, and communication.
- Proficiency in tools and technologies like SAS, SQL, R, Python, Hive, PySpark, and Tableau.
- Ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred:
- Master’s degree in a relevant field (Statistics, Economics, Engineering, or Management).
- Prior experience in merchant business or strategy analytics.
